OVERVIEW
The intent of the program is to provide participants with a good understanding and experience of managing projects. The focus is on the Project Management Life Cycle and the key activities that will be carried out throughout this life cycle. In order to facilitate this learning, participants will be put into teams in managing a project from the Initiation Stage to Closure of the project.
It is designed to refute the popular misconception that project management is simply "regular management with a PERT chart". In fact, a typical project manager is someone who is charged with delivering a specific end-product on a set deadline, under a specific (or implied) budget, in an organization of people doing something else, with a team of employees who normally do not work together (and who may even hold animosity towards each other), and over whom the project manager has no direct control. Participants in this Workshop are thrown into this world where they must confront all these issues and more.
